Clean Energy for Green Earth – Power Generation & Energy Sources

0 A Perfect Storm for a Surge in Renewable Energy Employment?

While the financial crisis may have breached renewable energy as a viable choice for the average homeowner or small business owner, the same forces that created this debacle can put a perfect storm for renewable energy to come surging back and bring employment opportunities them. A lack of available financing mechanisms, limited household budgets and casts Corporate profits dampen the transition to renewable energy, since this recession began in late 2007. When oil and natural gas came crashing down from their summer 2008 highs, renewable energy sources such as solar and micro-wind has a bit of a poor U.S. dollar cost comparison with brown energy.
Despite a clear public commitment to turn coal power, many were continuing difficult to justify in the form of a personal benefit choices. System sales stalled, and a question mark hung over the industry’s future. Analyst recommendations for solar and wind companies watched their stock prices: down. And many who had seen a future career move into renewable energy found themselves dealing instead with the realities of a severe economic downturn. While the desire for renewable energy continues to meet it was weakened. Today, a confluence of factors may move again to the benefit of renewable energy, bringing back a wave of new system sales, investment, and importantly, jobs. The price of brown energy is to pedal up again with crude oil back to $ 50/barrel, home heating oil at $ 2/gal and gas appear to have formed a bottom at $ 4/MBtu ‘s. On the investment side front, note significant of economists and stock analysts about lack of investment in new oil and gas production capacity points to supply shortages of five years horizon. In the short term, China’s domestic stimulus packages generally acknowledged to be effective in restoring economic growth while the U.S. economy is seeing flashes of positive news. Blocks and blocks of foreclosed, abandoned and scavenger-cleaner housing stock in cities across America to provide a chance to recreate them with renewable energy technologies. And perhaps most telling, the new administration made renewable energy a centerpiece of its agenda, declaring it off limits in budget negotiations with Congress. This welcome the stabilization of the economic downturn point to increased energy consumption as the world economy back blows, with higher prices and employment in response to his heels. So, how to ride this wave of new opportunities in renewable energy? The same as you ride any wave: with a surfboard and some skills to remember to add a touch of gallantry. In case of changing careers in renewable energy, “surfboard” is basic knowledge of science and technology of solar, wind and geothermal, how such systems work, the skills used in the assessment of a residential or commercial site, financing and ROI calculations and system design and installation details. This set of knowledge and skills are the foundation for understanding and working with renewable energy. In addition to this knowledge, an understanding of the industry and how it is structured and broader trends at work in and it allows one to make informed choices. Instead of riding the same wave as everybody else, brings a broader education a broader perspective and ability to plan well for the future. As with any career move – one by choice or by having the choice forced upon us – a touch of bravery overcomes inertia that so often prevents us take the first step. To get the career equivalent of the surfboard, seek training opportunities that will make renewable energy knowledge and skills in the hands sooner rather than later. But try not to set yourself up to be overwhelmed with the move by scheduling more classes spread out to give yourself time to absorb and use what you learn. The brown energy infrastructure has taken 150 years to build up: it will not change overnight, and most people alive today have never dealt with “energy” from the wall outlet. A growing number of community colleges, solar and wind equipment manufacturers and training companies offering courses and workshops in renewable energy. Right from the hands of education geared for technicians to install solar panels and wind turbines to construct courses in renewable energy sales and marketing, these classes add renewable energy knowledge and skills to your resume and extend it beyond your previous career. With a new, upward trend in energy costs and strong motivation to re-tool America’s buildings off brown energy, 15 billion dollars promised years of the new administration and signs of economic stability on the horizon, it is now time to pursue the many training providers across the country for knowledge and skills in renewable energy.
Few other recessions in the post World War era have been as serious as this. Nor have they had such a perfect storm of conditions built in to create an explosion of new economic growth to end them. Catch the wave. Time to train for the upcoming switch from brown energy from the past to the renewable energy of recycled economy is now.
