Best single source of information on the subject I have seen as a professional in this field. Although it might not be enough detail for expert system designers, it nevertheless
covering each item in a certain depth and explain it at a level that layman can not only understand, but perhaps enjoy reading. Very good summary of a very large topic.
Excellent. I will be giving them out to my customers. Nick

  2. I own, learn about and sell goods in connection with Solar Power and other forms of renewable energy. I read this book and use it as a reference when people come to me about using renewable energy. It is a great source of knowledge and author living what he wrote about, which is refreshing. I recently ordered another 5 copies to pass out when people order a complete system from me, as a guide to other components they may need in their struggle for Energy Indpendence. Maverick Solar

  3. Hugh Watkins says:

I built a new house and I want to be sure it is the most energy efficient house I can afford to build, so I got this book to help look at some of the decisions that Solar PV, Solar water heating, Wind and Micro hydropower. I’ve been happy so far the discussion of insulation so far has been targeted at existing houses, but it is interesting to note that insulate the basement can give you a higher payback than the more insulation in the attic.

I did not understand what net metering allows you to do before reading this book, though living in Georgia making a PV system cost prohibitive, as there are no state rebates.

; Solar hot water looks very realistic and should have a pretty quick payback.

  5. I bought this book at the same time as another very good renewable energy reference based on the “Customers who bought this …” Cross selling offered by Amazon. It is a mistake I will not make again.

The book can be helpful to a neophyte in the renewable energy area, but anyone with any background knowledge will find it very basic. The author uses the book to make subtle political statements are irritating. I was looking for detailed information, not political diatribe. I was disappointed.
